So I was tinkering with my engine which was sitting on the garage floor. My three year old came over to see what was happening and play the 'Why ?' question game. You know the one;
'What you doing ?'
- 'I'm tightening this bolt'
'Why ?'
- 'Because it's loose'
'Why ?'
- 'Because I took it off'
'Why ?'
etc.
To be fair the last question was a good one. Anyway I get distracted and she wanders off. Minutes later something catches my eye.
EILIDH !!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!
She was standing over the block with her hand dropping something into the trumpets, which I'd uncovered earlier.
I'm usually pretty quiet and she's not used to 'Daddy' shouting at her. Her bottom lip comes out, chin starts quivering then the tears start flooding. I still feel bad now !
Fortunately it was bits of masking tape which stuck to the inside of the trumpets and were easily retrieved. Phew !
On another note - the body came back from paintshop today & it's looking fantastic. If anyone needs some respraying done I can thoroughly recommend BeeGee Coachcraft. Gary did a great job & his attention to detail is outstanding. Lots of experience with TVRs and GRP and his rates were amongst the best.

Was recommended to Gary by TVR fix but haven't seen him yet. Assume he does the remedial work required where crazing or just needs filling etc What did it cost? I'm looking at getting the whole shell done too.....
Yep - he sorted out a few issues on mine before paint. Some I'd never noticed ! You'll need to talk to him about prices but he was very competitive ( I had 8 quotes )Poor girl, i hope when you're old and senile, you give that car to her.
Then when you drop your pipe cleaner down the spark plug hole (while she's doing a plug change, and you're being a pest, in ya zimmer frame) she shouts at you (much louder, coz it will be her pride and joy).

poured half a can of coca-cola into the fuel tank of my almost completely restored BSA Gold Flash
