Duxford Imperial War Museum - car show 7th Aug - need some numbers ASAP!!

Hi folks

Apologies for the short notice of this event, but I will need some rough numbers ASAP on who might be interested so that I can arrange with the TVRCC organiser some places on our behalf.

The Duxford imperial war museum puts on a summer car show on the 7th of August every year. Duxford is located just south of Cambridge and is very easy to reach just off the M11 (a couple of minutes at most).

It is also the home of one of the best Air Museums in the world and is generally a great day out.

It can be reached from Stansted in just under 30-40mins up the M11.

If you are interested in coming, then please let me know as soon as possible in the next few days so I can get the arrangements made to get us the right number of places!

These are mentioned in the links above and below, but thought I should summarize the main points now that they are clearer.

- Main point to note - this is a pay event. If you are coming as part of the car show, entry is £9.50 and gives you access to the whole Duxford site - i.e. 7 hangers of planes etc. If you are not showing and just coming along as a visitor, then entry is the standard £16.50
- If you are showing, then you need to be there until 1600, else you can leave at anytime
- The H&B run-in will aim to get there early enough to be marshelled in. I'll confirm the exact time nearer the event, but we will probably leave from Stansted to make things easier and shoot up the M11. The gates for car club entries open at 0930am, but as they specify no latest time you need to be there to get in, we can hopefully get a bit of a sleep in.

Hey Tony!

That should not be an issue - however I will need to check the status of the liability insurance.

Duxford require that participants are "appropriately insured" - which could mean just your normal
car insurance or might mean more.

For club members, it is not an issue as the club insurance covers them, for non-members it might
need clarification.

Leave it with me and I'll check for you.

Assume it is okay for now as I'm only after numbers, but I'll confirm nearer the time.

Yes, I will be aiming to attend St Mary's this year and with more people than last year. It really was a great day out! So, I hope the weather will be just as good again for a longer run-in
