Canon Compatible Flash

Can anyone recommend a cheap (sub £80) flash to act as a slave? I already have a canon 430 EX II and a couple of wireless triggers, and would like a cheap basic flash.

Assuming you don't want any automatic metering, then almost any flash with manual control will work.

If you're happy to buy second hand then an old Nikon or Canon flash (e.g SB-26, 540EZ) would be good. If you want to buy new then you can get cheapo Chinese flashguns; Yongnuo is one manufacturer.

Cheers, I've seen the Yongnuo ones on fleabay, just wasn't sure of quality.

From what I've read, their build quality isn't great. On the other hand, you're taking a risk buying an fifteen year old Canon or Nikon flash too.

Have a look at the Jessops own flash.
I've had mine for about a year. It struggles with depth and flash rates. But I use it as a fill it's great. Full auto aswell as manual.

Of your using wireless flash triggers (basic ones) then you just need any olf flash that has an OK trigger voltage and some kind of power control.
