Oil pressure relief valve spring.

Just finishing off engine rebuild. 4.3 pre serp. and got to cleaning and checking oil pump. When i have measured the relief valve spring it measures only 78mm. Build manual states this spring should be 81.28mm. As can be seen from the photo there has been a grub screw placed into the end cap which effectively lengthens the spring length and presumably pressure. spring and grub screw measure 86mm.

Will this have been done by TVR or will this have been a mod to up pressure made by some previous owner. Next question is, should i keep all this as is or obtain a new spring and do away with the grub screw. Oil pressure seemed fine prior to rebuild.

Thanks Spend. From that i will take it that the grub screw will have been put in by TVR to make the relief valve open at higher pressure. I will put back as is and not bother buying a new spring.
