Camp here...The annual PH pilgrimage to Le Mans looks to be a big one this year - despite offering a 9000-square-metre private camping area with 1st Tickets, we've sold out of space.

But there is good news for those who want to come along with us but have not yet booked a place - we have released a block of pitches on our second camping area at Bleu Nord. It does lack some of the facilities offered on the private camping, but naturally this is reflected in the price and the 1st Tickets team will work just as hard to ensure you have a great stay with us.

Excellent just what is needed. All my friends are getting married or having kids which is crap frankly 
. Lots of new imaginative excuses, mainly dull "its all sold out and I cant do it". Best one though is "my doctor says my liver is paté, I'll sit this one out" Fair doo's then.

Good point! We will get the web page updated today.The dates for the race are 11th - 12th June 2011.
The self drive packages are based on the following travel dates:
| Departing | Thursday 9th June, Friday 10th June, or Saturday 11th June |
|---|---|
| Returning | Sunday 12th June or Monday 13th June |
Hope this clarifies the dates.

The PH area on the standard Bleu Nord campsite are all numberered pitches. So if you arrive late on the Friday, your camping space will still be there for you.Quite a lot of people head down either Thursday or Friday and then leave on Sunday just before or after the end of the race.

GE pass is the bear minimum and gets you into the circuit and all public viewing areas. A Grandstand seat gives you a guarenteed unrestricted view of specific areas of the track. You choose where.
With 250K people all trying to get a look in, I always take a grandstand opposite the pits. Worth every penny.
It will cost you an extra £100. It's only once a year, so make the most of it.
Plenty of agents still have GS places available, so have a look around.
I recommend Sommer T16. Opposite the pit exit and big screen. Views of the start/finish and Dunlop chicane.

Never really struggled to see much with just a GE ticket and gives access to Mulsanne and Arnage corners plus the test day at Easter...
Usually it busiest at the very start and the finish where you might well want to have a seat but once the race is underway the crowds generally move about so shouldn't have a prob viewing anything.
Oh, then of course you could consider a covered GS if the weather is crap as a very good idea but if you have had enough beer, uits likely you won't be too fussed about rain after a while LOL

Tried without GS last year, view from the standing area at Tetre Rouge for the start was poor, even though we were at the top of the banking. Completely missed the atmosphere and build up of the hours before the start on the pit straight.
At the end of the race, we couldn't see anything but the very top of the big screen on the pit straight because there's too many bodies and the only place you can stand is on the steps leading up to the GS areas which act as a funnel for the dust that's kicked up stopping you opening your eyes!
If you plan ahead and nab a spot on the standing area well before the finish, make sure you're part of a big group so that the area can be held/protected when you need the essential break for P, Beer or food and look out for others who will come and build their own viewing platform infront of you from ladders/scaffold/rope/parts of weaker people etc.
This year we'll be in Sommer GS. Previously been in Tovano (directly opposite flag gantry and is the first covered GS) and this year I look forward to having a good view of the pit exit and the big screen. Should be ideal and well worth £100 per seat.
It's only fair to point out that during qualifying the Grandstands are open to all. It's a good chance to try them all and get an idea of which one you should book next year!

Had a GS seat every year since our first in 1996, and would never do without for the reasons set out above.
Actually, although I understand the view that a GS in the pit straight is wothwhile, I've always been in La Sarthe (was Maison Blanche) which I think is the best of all the GS even though it does not have a screen visible.

The La Sarthe stand is expected to have a large screen nearby this year. So for some people this will make the stand more appealling.Not good.
I managed one from Team Langoustine, but I know them well now and I think it might have been one of the last.
Worth a call though. I forgot to say. I paid £68 for the campsite, £165 for Grandstand inc GE and Team T shirt.
So split between 2 of us, we paid £199 each for camping, Grandstands, GE and T shirts. I thought that was OK.
