Hi Sweeper,
I see you bought the Cerbera that was in High Wycombe, I kept an eye on that one and nearly went to look at it. I hope it's working well for you, mine is!!
I'm sorry, I don't have any answers for your toolkit question, but it is nice to see you on here.

All good for the time being. Just a few little non essential jobs to work on which is nice because I don't feel pressured by it. things like tidying the engine bay, getting a seized bolt on the aircon belt tensioner sorted, engine bay panel back in etc... I want it all sorted ready for Le Mans. All in it's been very good.
When I told the guy I sit next to at work that I wanted to get a cerb he brought in an old copy of practical classic (I think) mag, the feature article had a certain orange car wit dark spiders! Looking forward to meeting you at Chatsworth.

Hmmn wonder who owns that now,yeah will be good to meet up at chatsworth,got to make sure i dont dismantle to much before then.Going to try and enjoy this car as she was intended,but its hard as i just cant do a simple repair its got to be stripped cleaned cleaned and then cleaned and then painted and then cleaned DohBoatbuoy said:

Hi Olly! Yes couldn't wait until you may loose interest in yours 
The Cerb is great, have it for a little while now. Some work done to it to fix stuff noticed during purchase already. Overall I am more than happy with the car... although I still love the colour combination of yours.
Good to hear yours is working fine as well.

But honestly, looks pretty basic for 50 quid. Spare fuses and bulbs is something I have in the car anyway.
Regarding the toolkit recommendations, I just think that my metric tools may not be suitable. Therefore I wondered if you can recommend something, e.g. a Halford all-in-one toolkit which will do best for TVR jobs.
The Cerbera has a mixture of metric and imperial nuts / bolts / etc so there really isn't a tool kit that will do everything.
What you will need is a decent selection of tools and even at that you will find yourself stuck for something or other on occassion.
If you have some good quality spanners / screwdrivers / sockets / allen keys / axle stands as a basic tool kit then you will be able to tackle most routine jobs and you can add to it with cheap Aldi-type stuff over time.
There isn't even a TVR specialist in the same country as I am and still my car has never had any issue that a couple of mates and I haven't been able to sort out (and none of us are mechanics).
You'll be fine so long as you have a head and a pair of hands that work together and you make good use of this forum for anything you are not sure of.

Thanks Ireland. Good to know that I don't need to throw away my stuff, as I do have a decent assortment of tools available. Will get meself a set of imperial spanners anyway... trying to avoid missing the right tool the moment I need it.
I am not a mechanic also, but I love to understand how things work and usually give it a try meself. However the time will come where I need to ask you knowledgable chaps some questions for sure.
As the last resort, credit card and ADAC (German AA) membership is available...
