Pirelli reveal tyre colour markings

Pirelli has announced the colours that it will use to distinguish the six different types of tyre to be used during the 2011 season.
Each tyre will carry its own colouring on the Pirelli and PZero logos affixed to the sidewall.
The six colours are as follows:
Wet - orange
Intermediate - light blue
Supersoft - red
Soft – yellow
Medium – white
Hard – silver
White and silver - gosh they've really thought hard about that one !!

Performance differentiation from the different strategies that come up by having 2 different dry compounds.In principle though, I agree, but would add intermediates too. Dry tyres would have no grip and wet tyres would over heat so you need a middle ground.

Sometimes I think nobody can see what I type.The options on any weekend will be either:
Silver & Yellow
or
White & Red
There will never be a race where Silver tyres are changed for White tyres. Because there has to be a compound between the tyres, and Pirelli will only take 2 compounds to a race.
(Obviously the inters and wets will be available as well)
I kind of like it. If it's a white/silver colour we'll know it's the harder tyre, and if it's a "colourful" tyre we know it's the soft option. That way we don't have to remember specifically what each of the colours means.
Anyway, the colours are less important than the performance. I'm just hoping they can add to the entertainment rather than detracting. (Basically I just want the racing to start!!!)

Awsome, so instead of having two tyre colours explained every weekend, were now going to have 6 tyre colours explained several times every weekend, while the teams will still call them the "Option" and "Prime", which will also be explained every time the team radio mentions it. Add all this to expling the qulifying format as well as the new Kerrs and Movable wings and there will be little time left for actually commenting on the action.

some people here are as thick as mince!Anyway, what's the betting, being Pirelli and all, some wee, cheroot smoking swarthy guy, some time during the season, gets the compound/colour stencils wrong????

I just didn't read it. I still think the colour choice is silly regardless of the combination's taken to the track.The options on any weekend will be either:
