OMG...are you really thinking about repainting that car?

the biggest mistake you can do is repainting a colored gel-coat.

a colored gel-oat is the best you can have...never any trouble with flaking paintwork and if it goes flat it could be polished / t-cut to its former glory.

even i cant find anything attractive on a Madison i must agree that the creme-white looks as a good choice!!!

I'm quite traditional in my tastes but I think it looks very good in that colour.

I don't think a modern colour would suit it at all.

Same as above especially not painting the gel coat. Looks stunning as is, maybe some different wheels. Oh and V10 with 5 pipes sticking out either side biggrin

I think the car suits the colour too, but if you are inclined to paint it what about something along the lines of the Alfa Romeo pearl white, still look similar to it the way it does now but the pearl will add a modern twist.

and now the car is suddenly again for sale (5275pound), re-painted in the original color...how comes?

also wondering, from end of march, until now the car was dismanteled, prepared for paint, paintjob done and re-assembled?

i rather think it was "only" a quick overspray, where the quality issue will show in a few months at the next owner. i already can see some white overspray on the front axle on the ebay pictures.

and i can guess why there arent any enginebay pictures, nor the ebay ones are in a high resolution!!!

hello 400 the car looks good dont pay too much to what comandis has to say, just seems to want

to make negative remarks most time, Has he seen the car ?? think not. Good choice painting same colour,
and agree with you 2 1/2 week is enough time to respay a car . so good luck with your sale.
and what is a little over spray ? if it is that
I know you have several sports and performance cars, so you just enjoy and dont take these forune too seriously
most time are just comments to wind up people
are you going goodwood at this week end with her

Well I thought that would have been obvious. The seller asks for advice from a motoring forum. Then doesn't like the advice given. Chooses to go ahead and repaint the car against given (sensible) advice which says it will deteriorate rapidly as painted gel-coats do, then tries to remove all traces of the non-professional botch up while advertising the car again as something really special.

The car was still perfectly presentable without the need to paint it. Comadis might have thought it looked like a scam - whether or not it was is not the issue; but the seller has tried his utmost to remove all traces of the original conversation, and for what possible reason? Go figure!

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE HERE!!!!!!!asked for views on here and elsewhere and decided to make my own mind up after talking to so many people,, but went with the original colour as thought that made sence if painting a gel coat is so terrible what are all the tvr cars doing????? and others come to that!!!
I take exception to negative and slanderous remarks being made by certain narrow minded people here, and that was the reason for removing the original post and comments as I just couldnt believe how negative people are ... and wanted to end this negativity on this subject simple. but again people have to try and put a negative on that.. what a world we live in. the paint job was not a bodge and cost me good money also.
The car is in my name and I am the legal owner and so I do as I feel free to with it, For people to think there is a scam ( how is this a scam !!!) (scam to try and do what???) well they must have that way of thinking and must lean that way. I have many sports and performance cars and will continue to buy and enjoy them as I am lucky enough to afford them... perhaps this is where the negativity comes in JEALOUS people act in strange ways. This is my last reply on this subject as I have no intention of replying to more negativity !!! SO TO ALL THE SAD NEGATIVE THINKING PEOPLE ... GET A LIFE..
