Time for help folks, my T350 won't start. Dash lights up, dials whirl, battery at 12.9V, but fuel pump doesn't whir and so nothing on second turn of the key - zip from the starter motor. Have checked the 100amp fuse this afternoon, bone dry and passed a continuity test so I'm thinking something immobiliser related though I know there is an 80amp fuse in the passenger footwell, but presumably if that had gone the dash wouldn't light up and show 12.9V?

Car was outside for several weeks in Feb awaiting a repair and got very wet on outside. Nothing obviously wet inside, but now misting up a lot on windows and controls - going to check the fuse box and fuses for damp methodically in the morning, but any where else I should check?

Any suggestions, moral support grately appreciated, missing my TVR!

You are pressing the button on your key prior to moving it to starter position? wink

Yes, though normally I can get seated in time not to required a second press. However, I noticed today a press of the button is now locking the car not deactivating the immobiliser so definitely think something is a miss with the immobiliser.

No need for a second guess, you were spot on with no. 29! Round of applause please! I couldn't wait until morning and when it fired up instantly I just had to go for a quick blast. So nice! woohoo

I do feel rather sheepish now for spending 3 hours taking the air box out and putting it back, but then my air box is much cleaner now than it was.

Thanks again I owe you a large cold beer! beerbow

check your fuel pump relay.
Also that the immobiliser isnt cutting out the starter circuit, easy way to bypass and remove from the equation, email if required.
you could also jump the fuel pump relay to check for the fuel pump priming to be sure, again email if you require details.

You might disconnect and reconnect the battery. Had this syptoms on a Tamora once, and it turned out the immobilizer was hung up. (Red indicator light permanently on?) After that procedure it started as before.

I might point out that the battery ran flat before that and after recharging it, it showed the abive behaviour.

Björn.
