I bought this watch at a boot sale about 10yrs ago for a pound and soon forgot about it, dug it out recently but know nothing about it. Is it worth trying to sell on (not really my style) or is it junk?

It's marked Ingersoll Digital Swiss on the blue dial. The back of the case is marked Base metal bezel, stainless steel back, Pat Pend.

It seems to be an auto as I just swung it and it started. Seems to keep ok time. Not sure if the crown winds it in anyway.

The case is 40mm wide and the lugs are 17mm. The strap that is on it is not original as it is cheap plastic so would need replacing. Condition is ok, few scratches and marks but looks ok on.

Does anyone have any info or shall I bin it?

I know nothing about it, but wouldn't bin it, someone will give you a few quid for it.

Yeah, may be worth about £20 but I could be wrong and it could be ultra collectible. biggrin Assuming, it isn't, I tend to see jump hours in NOS condition go for £50-100.

Yeah I googled it but there is surprisingly little on there, jump hours in general are mentioned but second most popular result is this thread which pretty much shows the lack of info available.

No. 1 on google, what an achievment! Is it worth anything? I don't even know as to what regard the Ingersoll brand is thought of.

My only knowledge of Ingersoll is that my mum had one of their alarm clocks when I was a child.

AFAIK, Ingersoll were an American brand aimed at the working man. They were the first to bring out the dollar watch... which was sold for a dollar in the early 1900s. It's interesting, historically, but not financially. I could be completely wrong, though.

No point keeping it as I don't like it and it'll never get worn, just clutter. Will stick it on ebay and try and get a couple of quid for it from someone who appreciates it.

^ You may want to just drop an email to a few retro watch dealers, they may be interested, for example -

http://www.theretroworld.com/

If you go eBay, then this may give you a good idea on prices for similar items - http://jumphourwatches.co.uk/

thanks for the links, most appreciated. I don't expect much for it on ebay, just rather it went to someone who appreciates it than just bin it or leave it in the bottom of a drawer.
