The title says it all.

Time to sack the Italian tt.

He's past it for starters not to mention his utter lack of moral standards.

I despair. No wonder England are utter ste.

Who then?

Not Rio, appears to be injury prone now.

That leaves Lampard or Gerrard, i'd go for Gerrard.

Why not just pick your best team on the day and decide who is captain from that 11?

Not Rio, i agree as he is finished at club level never mind international.

Anyone but the bloke you sacked a year ago, it just shows weakness. Terry shouldn't even be in the squad, never mind captain. Gerrard for me.

Not such a bad suggestion. Might actually complete the player IMO.

Rio is seething.

Rio Ferdinand is furious at Fabio Capello’s failure to inform him that he is making John Terry his permanent England captain and is considering whether he will play for Capello again.

well i think it should be done like most other countries do, the most capped player gets the arm band! simple. we over glamorise the captains arm band.

What is the anger for? Because he slept woth a woman who used to date someone in the team, or because Capello wanted to tell Rio in person, and Rio declined?

I'm bemused.

Would giving rooney the captaincy stop him picking up so many bookings?

No, It would lead to him shouting and swearing at refs even more, leading to red cards instead of yellows. Whilst Rooney MAY be good, occassionally, when he puts his mind to it, he will never be a leader, which is one thing required of a captain.

I'm not sure I agree with even having him in the team at times. he doesn't seem good enough to justify having him as the lone striker. of course I'm completely biased though

Spot on, hence MAY in my previous. Personally I dont think he`s that good, yes he has moments of brilliance but theres an awful lot of others who do the same. He gets more exposure, for all too often, the wrong reasons. If he decides to turn up and he gets the service I would play him, he would not be a guaranteed starter on my team sheet, certainly not as a lone striker, and never as a captain. When he`s got a mood on I wouldn`t even have him in the stadium.

Yesterday seemed to sum him up, scored his third and taints it by saying whatever he did. did look good once they had 3 up front, but i'm not sure England have got the right team to build around the walking chimp
