Some good friends were coming to see us today.
On Thursday night the Mum called to say one of their little girls sits next to a girl at school who had been taken home with Scarlet Fever.
After doing some Googleing it appears to have a 3 to 7 day period before the symptoms show.
I decided it was not worth risking exposing our 5 year old and possibly her school friends so I've postponed the visit.
Now I'm the bad guy for the day lol !
Their. Just had to get that of my chest.

Is this the twilight zone? How do I get out??? HELP!
On a serious note, I know an adult who had it, and was VERY ill. I think you made the right decision.
I had it a couple of years ago - nearly killed me. Went yellow because my liver stopped functioning. Most painful and elongated hangover feeling ever, with the nausea, the throwing up, the lack of appetite etc etc. I couldn't even keep water down. Apparently the blood test came back with Scarlet fever antibodies. And minimal liver function.
Doctor basically told me to go home to bed and call an ambulance if I got any worse. Luckily it didn't! It took a good three months to start feeling human again afterwards...
So you probably made the right choice!
