Yep. I take it you mean Mercedes World in Germany as oppased to McLaren in Woking (been there too as I worked on it)

I went a couple years ago. It was good, a lot of car history and you could easily spend a day looking at the models and listening to the history. Depends how interested you are in it, as its basically just a museum. i wouldn't go to germany just for that, maybe couple it with a trip to Oktoberfest!

Thought he meant Mercedes in Weybridge. If so, it's quite interesting as you can sit in any of the cars (some exceptions) without staff bothering you, watch people drive the circuit (have a go yourself if you pay), see some historic cars...

I'm assuming he means the one at Brooklands. In which case I'd also be interested to know if it's worth a visit.

The one at Brooklands is a great place to visit. OK, its all Mercedes, but still a petrolhead heaven with AMGs spinning around outside.

Yes, the Brooklands one.

(Although a Germany trip sounds interesting, maybe another time).

Went there in December and had a really good time. I won a competition to go round the track with the silver arrows display team, the car was an E class amg.

Yep it's pretty cool. AMG section is best (obviously) and they have some really good exhibits/classics too. The current 'exploded' f1 car is a highlight. If you can spare some time and money I'd suggest getting a passenger ride on the track - or drive if you can afford it. Amazing fun smile

I went there a few years ago for an 'SLR day'. They have all their models of cars spread out over multiple floors which you can sit in etc, plus IIRC some historical display/film thing?

Worth a look if you're in the area, but not sure if you're coming from the SW...

I cant believe you lot think its interesting! Brooklands is interesting, fascinating in fact. The Merc thing is just a big Mercedes showroom. I was unbelievably bored when I went. The only interesting thing they have there is a 300SL.

I like to sit in cars I wouldn't buy because they're too expensive and don't do what I want and imagine I'm a pimp. biggrin It's fun once in a while.

Well, I think that they have some interesting stuff at MBW. But, as DJC says it's a 5 minute walk along the road to Brooklands, which is Interesting+++++. If you like cars, Brooklands is great. If you like aeroplanes, it's a fabulous place to spend a couple of hours.

I book the Merc into MBW for a 'while you wait' service. Gives me time to look around MBW, and then to toddle of to Brooklands.

Makes waiting to get your car back a pleasure.

Now done in that manner I could appreciate the place. I could visit Brooklands every day of the week and not get bored smile

Best bit of advice is to combine the trip with something going on at Brooklands. On the 30th April its the Italian car day, which is a superb day out and then you can spend an hour at MB world afterwards.

Seconded. One of, if not THE best day on the Italian Car calender.

Taking my 2 yr old boy this year, and father is taking his father. All petrolheads biggrin

I'd third this. MBW has some nice cars, but going to an event and making a day out of it would probably be better.

Last time I passed by MBW in October they had 2 CLK GTR, loads of SLR's, and plenty of SLS AMG and 2 300SL's.

Took my stepson for some young driver lessons there, and while we there we also indulged in some trips on the off road course,my daughter then about 8 was well into the 4x4 experience.Best moment was one day we had a trip in an ML55 AMG and the driver said its a bit to clean to take back so he promptly performed some awesome doughnuts in the deep mud.Everyone there is friendly and helpful and lots of interesting stuff for kids as well.
