AFAIK you're stuffed.

Some companies will give you an intro NCB-like discount because of it, but that's it.

as said, nothing you can do really. Pretty much industry standard that insurers only count NCB for up to 2years. Sucks I know. How much of a difference would your quote be if you had 7years NCB on the policy?

^^^^ This. And you're in with a chance of talking them into a decent discount if you have a clean driving record and the use of another car as well.

I found this, but went back to my last insurance company, they agreed to reinstate it if I insured through them, I did this, then moved a year later with my NCB back where it was before.

Some Insurance Companies will accept No Claims Bonus up to 3 years old if there is a good reason why you haven't had Insurance in your name. I think you fall into this category. Contact a decent Insurance broker and they should be able to sort something out for you.

Just been through the same. Aviva have accepted my ncb which is 2 1/2 years old. Ring round as some insurers will accept it.

Asking via a broker might be useful. I did this when I came back from working overseas and found myself in the same situation.

My wife now has 3 yes ncb despite only having taken out her first ever policy last September, this is because admiral will mirror the ncb for a named driver.
Maybe your wides insurer will do this for you?
