Just looked at the ADs and someone has a Supercharged S up for sale. Anyone else done this.. How quick are they, does it put the engine under strain..How much does it cost..
I've just sold my Griff, and am looking at buying a project car..something to do up over time as I don't need a car to drive...so I was thinking of an early S...but would want more performance out of it...hence the question...

Tom,

There is an article about the car on this site. I am also sure that Lee would divulge more details if you contacted him directly.

Sorry I haven't the time to get the link.

Cheers

Mark

From what I understand, the costs involved with a project like this would be rather large, you’d probably be better off buying the one that’s already been done, all the hard works been done you can then spend your time enjoying it and adding your own touches to it.

The car is question came to the Mid Essex meet last month. It may be there this Sunday as well.
It looks and sounds the dogs doo doos. The engine bay is so full of chrome that you have to put your shades on when you pull up the bonnet! The history file of the car makes interesting reading.

The car in question is owned by a friend of mine and yes it cost a fortune, as his was a money no object project. Performance is Griff 500 standard, engine was totally rebuilt and upgraded, brakes uprated, webber alpha management fitted and set up by Alden Automotive (the best). The list is endless to what has been done and spent on the car, it is only for sale to release funds for his house .It must be the bargain of the year.

That supercharged S2 is "Ab Fab". I should know, i bought it. Was looking for a Griff 500 at the time to replace the one that caught fire (supposedly), but stumbled upon the S2 while helping a friend search for an S3, and couldn,t resist it.
Haven,t used it much, but its GGrrreat loud and fast fun when i do.
Ps Judging by the receipts i got with the car, it would be bloomin expensive to do it yourself.
I,d takew the advice of "Paul V" and find one thats allready done. Or alternatively you couls offer me vast sums of cash for mine???
