Must admit, I never caned it off the line, just got into 2nd gear as quickly as possible. I'm sure I can get mid or early 12's, but didn't want to torture the car.
Was neck and neck with a remapped AMG Merc V8 on the last run. I though drag racing was for "the travelling community", how wrong I was!!

A mate of mine who specialises in fitting turbos to bikes holds the current "street-bike" catagory in Europe. 7.89secs and 203mph. He recons that on a long straight and with the correct gearing
he would get up to about 265mph and then the back wheel would start spinning as the frontal resistance against the air would be too great. Imagine that, wheel spin at 265mph!!!

Thats not a bad time, you could probably shave half a sec off it. I once met a guy who raced drag bikes. He crossed the line at over 200 and the throttle stuck wide open! he had to jump off the back of the bike. His knee wore down as he hit the track and he lost his kneecap. The bike carried on and embedded itself into a bank!
