LINH 260W SUBWOOFER BLOWN, REPLACEMENT OPTIONS? DB9 VOLANTE

HI ALL,

the sub on my 06 db9 is blown. I removed it and noticed it is a dual voice coil and 8" diameter. Does anyone have the specifications on OHMS and wattage for this? Trying to find a suitable replacement.

Impedance will most likely be 2 Ohms and handling will depend on Amp Spec. JBL offer some good alternatives.

Amp specs were 260W, 520W and 950W Dolby surround.

Hi, this car has the 260w system.

It has 2 sets of wires on the sub, so I am assuming it is already split at the amp.

Yes it is split at the amp, with each coil rated at 2 Ohms. JBL do make dual coil Subs, but only 10" and 12", I believe. I can't remember the size in the DB9.

Thanks for the response, it is an 8" I pulled the stock one out today.

Good to hear about the 2 ohm load, I was about to buy a 4 ohm dvc sub!

The only thing I have to be careful about is the mounting depth as the stock enclosure is quite shallow.

Just wanted to advice everyone that a replacement subwoofer from Rockford fosgate was fitted to my volante. It sounds so much better than the stock unit.
