We don't over stock, stuff like bread in the freezer and as you mentioned fruit is fine. Rarely need to bin anything.sparks_E39 said:

And you are the friend of all the food companies, the only things you need to pay attention to are use by dates and then only really need to blindly obey them on things like fresh meat or fish etc.I don't eat anything that is even one day out of date.
Do you really think if you ate something at 1 minute to midnight it would be fine and that it would be dangerous to eat at 1 minute past?

The dates tend to err on the conservative if stored in the correct conditions
for the product they can be viable for quite a while beyond
but i would be careful with dairy products like that as they use live cultures
in their production.
As has been said if there was no bowing out of the lid indicating pressure
then it was most likely fine.
