Dash refurb; recommendation

Just got my reveneered dash and radio panel back from reveneering today. I'm very chuffed with the finish, and was convinced for a while they were different panels - I just couldn't believe how much better they are.

The veneer seems so much thicker - its not really, I phoned LCC to thank them for the excellent job and Malcolm explained how it was the plasiciser and different laquers which made it seem that way.

Whatever the reason, I send of what amounted to a rust and flimsy bit of sheet metal with some scraps of veneer clinging on for dear life, and lots of surface rust where veneer parted company with metal some time ago. I got back substantially solid veneered panels several times thicker than the original, beautifully finished, even on the back. No bare metal, the rear is finished nicely in satin black with a little sticker bearing LCC's details - testament to their justifiable pride in their work. A proper job.

I WILL post some pictures here as soon as possible, but my digital camera went fritz. (Canon "E18 error", nasty business and the last Canon camera I'll ever buy - Google "Canon E18 error to find out why.) I'll see if I can get any reasonable shots with my P800.

I'll post some pics as I put the dash back together too; I've added some extra clocks and uprated the warning lamps to the alloy surround type off later cars so I'm hoping it will all look rather good when back together. I just have all that wiring spaghetti to untangle first!

Apparently they have trouble getting pics from TVR people who have had it done, otherwise they would have a TVR section on there by now.

Surprised they didn't respond, Malcolm Hall seems like a genuine guy and he reponded to by initial email query pretty quickly.

Yes LCC do a super job - did my Griffith a souple of years ago - still a super job - charged me £160 + VAT.

And I've just been charged ... £160 plus VAT. I had the radio panel done too, a further £80 plus VAT.

Absolutely yes! The point I was making was that they are still charging exactly the same amount as a couple of years ago - £160. Has to be good value - and as my orignal post makes clear the quality is very good.

I can highly recommend LCC. They did both my dashboard and radio panel.

Even when I messed up the finish when putting one of dashboard lights back in Malcolm Hall fixed it for free.

Excellent service all round and they're very happy to talk about any aspect of the work.

160+vat for the main bit and I think 60 odd for the radio panel. I would have to check the invoice for an accurate figure.
