I recently ordered a set of braided brake pipes for my 1989 S1.5. When they arrived they had the following fittings. On the rear short pipes were bulkhead connectors with imperial threads. The front long pipes came with Metric bulkhead connectors and imperial straight connectors to fit to the caliper( even these were wrong having been sent one concave and one convex, have been waiting 3 weeks for the replacement to arrive). I questioned this set up with the supplier ( who is often recommended on this forum) and was given some bull that TVR used the same pipes on the rear as a Vixen and hence the imperial size. I cannot believe that any manufacturer would mix imperial and metric fittings on a braking system. Hopefully shpub will be able to tell me what the threads are on the S.I dont want to strip my pipes off and find that the ones I have been sent are not right. I might end up sending the whole lot back to this dealer and sourcing some from somone else.

sorry to hear your probs. replaced mine with braded hoses and it was different front and back. the rear ones were imperial. ended up i had to send the old fittings down to them so they could match them up.
cheers

Thanks for your replies guys. The most annoying thing with the people I have got the pipes off is their attitude. They would not admit that they had sent the wrong fittings on the longer pipes, ie one with an imperial thread and concave end and the other with a metric thread and convex end, these being the ends that screw ito the caliper. Thir whole attitude stank and the people I spoke to were patronising to say the least. Having spent 30+ years in engineering I felt that even an idiot would realise this was wrong. I would have been happy if they had admitted there had been a cock up when they were being made up. Well rant over and hopefully the correct ends will arrive on Monday.
