M400 for sale at mole valley???

Hi Chaps,
Tim again, thanks for all the advice on my last post, took it! and read through a lot on this forum, amazing nobles you lot have, went to see the m400 at mole valley a few weeks ago didn't drive it due to the weather, looked very clean and tidy, anyone know about it, and what price does one of theses realistically sell for as none at the mo to compare with. also anyone know of any m400's for sale?

Hi Tim - I just sold mine without really advertising it and I suspect that quite a few change hands that way because they are few and far between.
No idea about the MV car but probably a fair price for a standard M400 if it is in good condition with the essential upgrades done. I suspect that prices will get stronger as the weather improved.

That car will cost you straight away unless you see to it that the necessary mods are done before you part with your hard earned.
The fuel pump wiring is the first item on the list,
Then check the exhaust box bracket is holding, The box is probably on its way out at that age anyway, so budget for a new exhaust (twin box).
There are a load of other mods, but most can be done by a budding DIY mechanic.
Tou're probably be better off finding a GTO / M400 with the work already done, it is very easy to spend £10K on modding one of these cars so be prepared.

I'd definately recommend you get underneath the car in some way. Ask them to put it on a ramp.
I collected a 3R from a dealer (remaining nameless) in September last year and noticed the dampness and wet floors shortly afterwards. I've only just got to see underneath and the floor needs a good bit of work to rectify the situation.

That car has been for sale for absolutely ages. I thought it seemed a reasonable price at the time. I was looking around for a few months for an M400 and thought about going to see it but after I posted up on the forum for buying advice I was lucky enough to be contacted by DavidMT whose stunning upgraded/modded car I subsequently bought without looking at any others! I'm sure I read somwhere on here that the MV car had been sold,- obviously not.
The advice I got was also to look for a sorted car as you will definitely have to spend a few grand on the aforementioned essential upgrades. Good luck.

Its a late 2004 with 19k miles so the price is not bad and i do like that colour.
Best thing you can do is to go and have a look but first you need to have something to compare it to, ask on these forums if anybody lives near you who will let you have a look over their car and talk you through things to look out for.
If you go and look at the car, take it for a test drive and check for obvious things like gearbox, noises in engine, see if ist boosting ok, check suspension/ride, look for rust on chassis, exhaust etc.. If it appears straight enough and there is nothing major then go for it, any small mods/upgrades you may have to do will not be a massive expense in a worse case scenario.
Don't forget you will get warranty which covers you on the big things(but generally these warranty's are not worth the paper they are witten on), so you can also request the the garage reseal the floor pan and reweld any broken exhaust support brackets(or whatever it may require) on the basis of putting down a deposit.
You can bide your time and wait for one like David's to come on the market again which would be a cherished and well maintained car or you can buy this M400 spend some money on it and turn it into your own cherished/personalized Noble.

There are two M400s at MV so it depends which one you are talking about.
As many people know MV has supplied both my M12 & my M400 and 9 years later they still do all the work on mine. Having just got my M400 back from them after 6 years of just the normal 12k services, and this year with just that little bit extra of TLC, I can vouch that the car feels just like new and the quality of the work is outstanding. In addition they have solved quite a few of the normal bugbears that you have with Nobles after their extensive work on them, so they can't come highly enough recommended from me.
Both Warren and Neil in servcing know what they are doing, with Warren being one of the very first people to ever wield a spanner on a Noble, and Chris/John are a delight to deal with with the odd conversation with Charles always a pleasure.
Both are good cars, and both will have had a good look over by the service guys. There are of course many things you can do to "improve" an M400, but if you want a clean car with excellent backup then you can't really go wrong with MV IMHO. They are always up for a deal, but also will be certainly straight forward if your offer is just silly!

Yep - that was my M400.
They have had two M400s in recently, one just before my car was in, the other at the same time. If you saw it when my car was in then I know which one you are now talking about.
That seemed, on just my visual once over, to be a nice car that doesn't seem to have had a hard life (unlike my poor little thing that is used rather than stuck in a garage to look at), and hence should be a good buy. Key thing to appreciate though is that these are £65000 hand built cars and hence you need to budget sensibly.
Mine cost £1-2k each year for 6 years, but now needed some TLC. Throw in a few changes/upgrades and the bill was just over £2k on labour, but the parts cost was well over that as I replaced a lot of things that had corroded/worn above and beyond what a service would normally do.
Cars like the one you saw seem to be much more pampered though, but still ensure a £3k or £4k, whilst not nice, isn't going to kill you just in case something lets go. You should be reassured that MV will ensure you have a good car from the off, but after a year or so ensure you look after it!

I had my M400 serviced at Mole Valley last year and they were very professional (not the cheapest mind). At the time they had another M400 for sale (grey one at 40k - sold it very quickly), so i think that the 36k one is not too bad. Mine is Monza Red too (best colour i recon), so go buy it, then we have do a convoy!
