pop noise

the other day after coming off the throttle then going back on the throttle got a loud pop from the rear, checked the suspension seems fine, so thought it must have been something on the road.. then last night it did it again while coming off then on the throttle.. could my exhaust actually be popping? its a standard exhaust with a decat.. anyone else managed to get a standard exhaust to pop.. is it possible?

yep decat will pop quite nicely apparently I now get a flame pop on high rev shift up and and a nice gout of trailing flame on the overrun! Decat + Borla stainless system !

I have a standard exhaust and a de-cat and get no popping whatsoever high rpm overrun, up changes etc, nothing makes it pop even when the exhaust is red hot

You need to change the bit in front of the decat.

It's mostly due to overfuelling anyway. Looks good but it's not something you really want.

mine pops once occasionally after I have turned the engine off..sometimes as much as 5 minutes afterwards. What would that be??

Does it make a cracking kind of noise?

When you say cracking is that the just the pinging noise every exhaust makes after a run when it is cooling down?

Its a distinct single pop mine makes, could only do it about 3 times out of 10 and its always at least a couple of minutes after the engines stopped. Its baffled me!
