I am looking to replace my Passat tdi snotter with something sporty.
I've done the jap turbo thing before and although the speed is fun, there's no engine noise to get me excited.
Budget is 7k, insurance not really a problem. However I'm no good with spanners so must be reliable although I only do about 100miles a week these days.
Current ideas are an Alfa GTA or Alfa GTV bit the GTV must have the cup styling. RX-7, I know its a jap turbo but they sound and look pretty good. Reliability is an issue with these suggestions though.
Other ideas are an Integrn (newer shape) or an S2000.
Problem with S2000 is only 2 seats and I do need 4 seats on occasion but could potentially borrow my GFs on such occasions.
Any other options/thoughts on the above?

Awesome awesome car for what you can get them for now. Those I know with the Q2 diff and uprated ARBs have said the transformation was well worth the £4-600
Practical too. And on a long run easily returns over 30mpg.

Just .........lovely! (the 156 is a better drive than the 147 version. Although that's a fab car too!)
Try and get a test drive in one and you'll see.

But, seriously, I bought the S2000 in a time when I had hardly any responsibilities, out of all the previous cars I've had it's the first one I'd go back to. If only you could get 2 child seats in
Summer is nearly here, beat the rush and snap one up, sell it in mid-September while the sun is still out and you'll probably get close to your money back.

Get the S2000 now. Running 2 cars sounds like a good idea but in reality running 2 nice cars isn't easy. Our 2nd car when we had the S2000 was an M plate Mondeo with nearly 120k on. But then I think well get the Alfa as it's a better 1 car solution and get the s2000 when I can afford to run 2 cars.

You'll regret the Alfa when it leaves you stranded somewhere.

I loved them both, especially the day they went, but if I had to choose between a 159/147 or an S2000, it's a no-contest.
