Depends on the state of the floor boards and what the tiles will butt up to the other side of the door carpet /tiles/vinyl etc. 9mm marine ply screwed every 100mm should do the job

When doing my bathroom I decided I didn't want a great big floor height difference so removed the floor boards and put down 3/4" wpb ply and screwed it to the joists every 3".

9mm ply plus the tiles and the adhesive will be around an 18mm height difference. Not what you want to stub your toes on first thing in the morning whilst hungover biggrin

Depends in the sub floor underneath, if it's old floor boards which are cupped, then 9mm minimum, but new chipboard floors in good condition are fine with 6mm if it helps the floor layouts. Also screw every 150mm is fine, 100mm is a bit overkill, but too much is much better than not enough!
