Just bought a mk1 1.8 focus as a daily hack to keep costs down vehicle wise for a little while.

Dont really want to go spending any money on it but seeing as i have come from an mx5 i feel the need to wring its neck every so often. This in turn has resulted in biggg brake fade and overheating of the pads,

Any pads recommended in particular for some country road brake punishing fun?!

Thanks!

The genuine ford stuff is very good but the biggest problem is likely to be poor brake fluid condition so i would get this changed first.

New discs and pads, change the fluid. If you're fading the brakes then, you need to slow the fk down.

I've been using Apec pads and discs for years, tried various others and keep coming back to Apec.

Okay thanks for the advise! ill take it on board! Only bit i cant take on board is the slowing down bit! Haha! Theres a time and a place to drive fast and im afraid its only in the corners that i can enjoy the focus, its not exactly blessed with power! cheers!
