I have the end of April booked off and I am looking for a english get away. My criteria is that it sleeps my wife and I and our eight month old, it's peaceful, nice views, sub £500 for the week, could do with having fishing on site but not essential, up to four hours drive from london, close to something to see or do of some significance. It doesnt have to be a log cabin either, just not a caravan or a tent.

Depending on time of year and your luck, you can get a really good deal on the Forest Holiday cabins.

I was at the Strathyre cabins over the weekend there. Cost for the weekend £155 + £10 towel hire. It was the basic "Evergreen" model as thats all they had available - Cracking accomodation for the money to be honest.

Couple of snaps...

Usually use these to search for a suitable place and then phone the place direct to see if they can at least match the price so they can avoid the fees

We're booked to the New Forest at Easter. Reviews look promising. Can't wait.

This was a last minute thing, so we were pleasantly surprised as to how nice and spacious the cabins were.

A Silver birch with hot tub is looking a certainty over Xmas/New year smile

http://www.fisherground.co.uk/index.htm could have been ideal, but looks like it's booked up.

scratchchin Hmmm, now that's a thought. Depending no how we find it in Easter may consider this an option come New Year.
