My headlights are on the blink

...quite literally. Not good when plunged into darkness halfway down the M1 at 4:30am on the way to a tunnel run... They did blink on again later - so it looks like a faulty/loose connection rather than bulb failure. Main beam still works - but only if I keep my finger on the button (i.e. in "flash" mode - as if I have headlights turned off).

Is this likely to be the steering wheel ribbon cable? I seem to have lost the left indicators too - could that be related?

On the drivers side just above the petrol tank is a lighting control unit that normally burns out on the connectors

OK - thanks both. Just one question occurs to me - how do I access "above the petrol tank"? I'm still learning my way around this car, and that doesn't sound like somewhere easily accessible...

Open the boot - look forwards - that carpet there is the petrol tank... looking from the top of the boot seal down you'll notice there is a seperate 'flap' of carpet, this is held in place with velcro, behind it are the control boxes. In terms of access, on a Cerbera, thats about as easy as it gets!

Baz the problem may be with the ribbon cable coming from the light switch.It used to do it to me a couple of times.Wriggling the cable will bring it back on.

Thanks guys - I'll have a poke around both areas tonight. I'm pleased that my early forays into Cerb maintenance have so far been fairly gentle! I got the throttle cable fixed, by the way, and it lasted a good 150+ miles on Sunday without pinging out again.
