So with my warrenty direct cover now ran out, the freeby has now picked a nice new fault to throw about from its O.E.M bag of landrover breakdowns and annoying bd faults.

My rear parking sensors have now packed up. They had been acting up over the last few days and now are gone.
Quick google and check shows the sensors themselves are working, so its a bumper off job to check the wiring loom and connectors.

Wouldnt be overly bothered but the whole system got replaced a year ago this month when i got rear ended so something thats broke/came apart is less than a year old and has had landrovers worst in motherwell playing about with it. rolleyes

Ah well, can replace the wheel arch liner that got hacked apart with a stanley knife while im ripping apart the back. And replace the undertray that got knocked while i was getting the clutch issues sorted. biggrin

Did your parking sensors work when the bucketlander was rolling backwards towards Al's GT2 at the RATB? laugh

Well on saturday, i took the bumper off a look at whats up. Wish i hadnt bothered!

Found the worst half arsed repair job ive ever seen in my life...
Rear wheel arches are held on with 6 clips and a few studs, the left arch was held in with 4 clips, only 1 was the right one. Other 3 were randoms and didnt fit properly. The left was held on with 5, and a few of the studs are broken. rolleyes

Rear bumper is held on with 4 screws, 2 large bolts and 5 studs. I have 2 screws and 4 studs... the 2 inch bolts that fix the underside to the car are missing, 2 screws that sit under my rear upper lights are missing. mad

2 sensors are burst and the holders that the sensors are fitted into are broke as well. So 2 of the sensors are only held in place, well by only being sat and pushed in..

fking joke! LR dealer in motherwells doings, as the maryhill counterparts were saying when i went into order the parts that i need to fix the car back to a standard that i was expecting the repairs to be done. Easily over £120 in parts to do so..

Ah well, i have the court case for the smash that has caused all the hassle next month, wonder if i can get the costs sorted by them hehe

Well to continue the updates on this, maryhill LR dealer got all parts i ordered yesterday, cost inc a nice discount was £112.
Got my replacement wheel arch liner and front sump guard from a freelander breaker today, another £100.

Will get it all refitted hopefully on saturday, with plenty of pictures getting taken so i can email them to taggarts area manager to show just how much i have had to spend/fix due to the monkeys they have. smile

Jeezo … at least you’re making progress now. Tidy prices for the parts too, well done.

Breakdowns i can deal with, had good experience of that. hehe

Bodyshops cutting major corners when they are the manufacturers own and then having to fork out to correct their lazy arsed jobs, is not on. Hense the details for taggarts area manager. smile

Sad that. About 20 years ago, they used to a really good OEM bodyshop, sad to see it's went downhill.

A mate from school served his time in there, and he really knew his stuff, he did some lovely work. Then, I am going back to when nightfire red was the colour of the moment.

Regards the mechanical work, well, lets just say your not the first I've heard to find corners cut. Sad that frown
