Unit stocking? Dealer help please!

I just know I'm going to get slagged off for this for being a numpty...
Bought a secondhand car (not VW) from a VW main dealer. Due to my mother's paranoia (god's sake, I'm 39!) I allowed myself to be provoked into getting an RAC HPI check, which showed finance owing on a 'Unit Stocking' agreement, which the HPI check stated was more than likely related to the way dealers finance their used stock. (it never occurred to me to HPI a car from a main dealer, I would, and have, done it in every other situation).
I called the dealer, and got an email last wednesday saying the finance has been cleared, and will be off the HPI system 'when it updates'. Due to various other bits of paranoia (see below), I checked it again tonight, and it's still on there! How long does the system take to update - is it more likely to be a month end thing given it's a business?
As an aside, they still owe me the balance on my trade in (not a lot) - when I finally got in touch with them after multiple messages the guy who sold me it said it had been paid and was in my account, despite telling me it would be a cheque sent by post - checked the account, and it's not there. And this is from a main dealer?
