I've just had accident damage repaired on my 2004, 318Ci M-Sport coupe. It was done at a main dealer bodyshop and had a whole new drivers door fitted.

Now, on the 'old' door, as you faced the door looking at the inside trim, underneath the lock mechanism the door had 2 small dents which look like they could be from part of the pressing process. This new door has the same and I wondered if it's normal or not? If anyone else can look at there door and see if it's the same I'd be grateful.

Thanks V8, I can't get Google images at work so could'nt post anything up. As you look at that picture, the dents are underneath the part of the door that faces you - under the lock mechanism so not on the 'end' of the door as those bolts sit.

But are they like the two 'dents' right at the bottom of that picture? (on the narrow end of the door)

Not at the very bottom of that picture (the one that is partially obscured) but are circular and about the size of a shirt button - almost like a punch hole.
