Went to my local Nissan dealer as the other half fancies a Qashqai thingy ... anyways had a couple of GTR's in the showroom,and as you do had a sneak peak when i should have been looking at the more mundane other offerings,and was almost tempted by the advertised finance package offered

£40k would get a used GT-R, so if you can afford that sort of deal then perhaps £10k cash in the bank, £15k from saving £1.1k per month for 14 months and then a £15k loan at £700 a month for 2 years. None of that £33k final payment crap.

I agree on the finance crap, but I think the running costs of a used GT-R and a new Qthing aren't really comparable

Perhaps not, hence why my option is £400 a month cheaper once the car has been bought. That would probably cover the non-fuel running costs, maybe.

Well, the first 2 services for a GT-R (6k and 12k) would be around £1400 total. Add in the insurance, tax and MOT; £400 a month should cover that, as that's £4,800 in total. So you should be able to cover tyres within that. If you only needed to sort out the brakes every other year then that £4,800 a year should be ok (the brakes are £4k + VAT).

All theoretical BTW, I am a mere average guy that doesn't own one of these beasts.

Spot on,not in the market for one,though like a lot on here i wish i was .... but the finace package was interesting.
