Not to sure they are mounted on a plate in the center console wich also houses the radio, hazards etc they are easy enough to unclip but getting them back through the plate is impossible not sure how to get em out.

Hi Mate..If they are like mine on the 280 then there should be raised plastic clips that need squeezing gently top and bottom of rear of switch..Do they have a plastic housing over them where the illumination is? as that will have to come off as well..Again im assuming they are like mine..Good luck..

Similar to the tags on the new switch but probably plastic.

If they are the same there is basically to 'clips' that needs to be pushed in, one on the top and the other on the bottom, it should then slide straight out. I'll pop to the garage now and see if I can find a switch and take a piccy. Give me a few minutes!

OK, have a quick look here.

As Zig said, you need to take off the white (at least on mine it is) plastic collar that holds the fibre optic light. Then there is a biggish plastic tab that you need to push gently down:-

You then tip the switch forward a bit and should then be able to lift it a little to release the two bottom lugs:-

When I took my window switch out a couple of weeks ago it still needed a fair bit of wiggling to get it out but it did eventually.

Does this help??

Yes that is the same as the ones i have in there at the mo..You probably have a white plastic housing with a small black wire coming out the top..That housing should pull off backwards away from switch..The one i put up was to show where there might be clips holding it in...sorry i should of took a pic of the same switch you have..

Dowl..dave beat me to it..hehe

I'd cover the whole plate with masking tape, measure and mark the hole and cut with a jigsaw.

scratchchin Actually, I'd probably use the plasma cutter biggrin
