wife wants a fiat 500

will the BSM factor be an issue for residuals or anything else?

Well they seem to have held there values very well, even the early base spec 1.2 2008 cars are still £6k upwards. I think people speculated the BSM association would kill the residuals, but I haven't noticed too much of an ill effect.

The BSM deal hasn't done as much damage to residuals as it could have.

The deal was originally a 3 year contract, which would have meant a market flooded with them, however; when BSM went belly up and the AA took over, the contract with Fiat effectively ended, and they've gone over to another brand (either Ford or VX from memory)

Last week I was looking at swapping out the missus's 1 year old 1.2 byDiesel for something a little more motorway friendly and was very impressed when I saw the part-ex value on Glass's. It was about bang on compared to what was offered when spoke to a couple of dealers.

I doubt I'd even be bothered trying to advertise it privately.

Base model 1.2 Pop in White seems to be the best to lose as little as possible although higher spec will make it easiest to sell and differentiate from the wide selection.

Yeah that's what I heard too, back to VX, but there website still features the Fiat 500 heavily.

Prices look firm although there is a certain amount of pre-registering going on
