Toothed tone-wheel for speedometer? (on GKN)

Does anyone know where to purchase the toothed tone-wheel used for the speedometer drive on the GKN diff? (I'm hoping to retrofit it to the differential so I can change to the electronic speedometer setup of the later cars.)

I'll try a breakers if I can't find one from an online retailer.

I expect I'll have to fabricate a bracket to hold the transducer. I plan to use a Steve Heath sensor, so I'll need to make sure that the wheel and the sensor are matched properly.

I have just switched from LT77 transducer to proximity switch on my Precat griff.

I have mounted the sensor on the gearbox mount using a bracket and aimed it at the four bolt heads on the propshaft.

Seems to be working fine so far.

Are you using the TVR speedo, the up side down one per chance? If so can you give more detail / info please?

The speedo looks like the original, with the 1 o'clock zero,but is a remade version. Nice modern internals and run by a proximity switch.
I ran a group buy on here , but only a few responded......

Well, it cost us about £160 each.

But when you take into consideration that the spares for the old SW gauges are getting harder to come by, the LT77 transducer is also getting harder to find easily, the new speedo has a digital odometer, and a built in tripmeter, it is very good value really.

Would you e kind enough to post a pic of your speedo when you have a spare mo ta. It sounds good. More so as I'm planning on a new oil pressure gauge, which is a minefield of choice for accuracy quality and looks to match the TVR other instruments.

Are the speedos still available Ant, and is £160 for the lot or just the instrument itself?

I ordered one from Racetech Direct, and I'm waiting for it to arrive. They claimed that it's available in 15-, 16-, and 17-tooth varities. (I'm still not absolutely certain what I need, so I went with the 16-tooth and will make modifications to suit.)

Mine was £45. Unfortunately it's not listed on the website, so you'll need to call/email. In our communication, they just referred to it as a "speedo ring", but you should probably be specific about which one you need if you write them (i.e. GKN versus BTR, input-shaft-flange versus output-shaft-flange.)

Also note that it's not a new part; Racetech apparently gets them second-hand from a breaker.

If you are trying to get a part number, you might try asking someone at Racing Green. I tried them before I went to Racetech, and I believe they indicated that their supplier found a box with the correct part number for the speedo ring (only to discover that it contained an entirely different part!)
