E46 cab roof adjustment
Discussion
Hi all,
The suns out and the hardtop is finally off! But as the canvas roof came up the pegs stopped short of the a-frame and just locked in mid air!! I had to gently pull the roof down for them to engage properly. The car has extended BMW warranty but the dealer said this doesnt cover 'adjustments'. So does anyone know what needs to be adjusted and whether I can do it myself? Pulling it down manually is just not cool...

I would argue it has nothing to do with adjustments. As far you are concerned, the car has a warranty, and the roof is not closing. This needs to be fixed, and how they fix it is their issue. Its not like you are taking your car to them and asking them to adjust the tension of the door handle etc is it?
The roof is not working, end of.

I had a similar response on my Alpina convertible last year - however, the problem turned out not to be an adjustment, but a failed actuator, so obviously it was covered in the end.
Of course, in this case it may just be an adjustment so it may not be covered
I'm pretty sure I found an adjustment guide when googling my problem last year, but can't locate it now. Might be worth trying to DIY first.
