I found the biggest issue was house dust. Not tried any electric aids..... for the nose.
I have a spray for the nose from the doctor that sorts me out. But 40 quid, I would want to see some solid evidence it does anything. After trying several things over the years the biggest help I have done myself is manage the house dust and mites.

I bought the Lloyds Nose Illuminator last year. They were on offer for £15, unfortunately this was just as my hayfever season was coming to a close, so I never felt it worked but I'll be having another with it this year.
One of the unlisted side effects was finding it in a drawer several times over winter and rolling my eyes while thinking I should have spent the money on Benadryl instead of a device to make myself look like a cartoon drunk.

I'm the same - I can spend all day outside without a problem, but sit indoors for a couple of hours and I'm reaching for the decongestant. Mines kicked off in the past couple of days too - the warm temps must have kickstarted all the trees. I only get it during the beginning of spring - does anyone know what it is that starts pollinating first, as thats what gets me.
Any other reccomendations for me to try, either sprays or tablets? I've never really had much luck, although fortunately mine is usually quite mild and only lasts a month or two, not all Summer.

I was going to say the same thing.. I've just started using that nose thing today as I could feel the tingly feeling yesterday. Have you tried that Lloyds nose thing before?
I get allergies at this time of year. Birch pollen is apparently the worst, and where I live I'm surrounded by birch trees.
Boggo Sudafed (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) sorts it out and is much cheaper than anti-histamines.
Incidentally, beware of 'Zirtek'. What's available everywhere nowadays under that brand name is cetirizine hydrochloride.
The original pharmacy-only med was cetirizine di-hydrochloride.
These aren't the same molecules at all: cetirizine di-hydrochloride didn't cause drowsiness, but cetirizine hydrochloride does. (At least with me.)
Beware, and check all labels. Pharmacy assistants (and no doubt some pharmacists) nowadays are too thick to notice such subtleties.

At that point I used to go to the Bencard Allergy Unit which used to be somewhere up the Great West Road, just before Chiswick in the Beechams Building.
After that, they could tell what I was specifically allergic to and I then had a course of injections.
Since then I found out that Acapuncture carried out twice a year really works wonders, and I also take 1 teaspoon of Honey which has to be from the area around where you live, which put back into you some of the anti bodies from the various pollens, since then very rarely get many problems.
