Fully synthetic oil in an old car

I've got an old Turbo Diesel Toyota (2001 and 110k miles) and just spoke to GSF about doing the oil change. They recommend putting fully synthetic oil in it.

I didn't think you could go from semi synthetic oil to fully synthetic without doing some sort of engine flush.

SHould I stick with semi synthetic or going to fully synthetic worth considering? It's all blakc magic to me!
