at 32 having squandered my life away oop north...

is there anyway of being retrained to a more technical skillset or has the ship sailed?

I was just looking at the wind turbine job thread and looking what was required qualification wise and alot of the vacancies are asking for very specific certifications.

As a novice would it be possible to change job sectors or would it be a case of becoming 18 again and going through the university route?

Old dog...

New tricks???

On a more serious note, it is more difficult when you have a house, family and other financial obligations to go and be a student. If you can sort that out, the only thing holding you back is you.

Work out what you want to do. Work out how to go about getting it. Put in the effort required to achieve said goal.

You'll feel proud of yourself when you achieve it.

Go on!

You can do whatever you put your mind to. In the words of Paddy MacGuinees:

"The power is in your hands."

People on here are really helpful, if you know where you want to go. They're also brilliant at sarcastic answers to "I want to change my life but I dunno what into" type questions...

Have a few beers with mates who know you well, and work out where you want to go. We'll help you get there. (Probably.)
