Despite economy and environmental woes it struck me recently just how many fantastic performance cars are on their way in the near future.

At one end of the scale you've got stuff like the Porsche 918 and the new Mclaren; middleweights like the new 911, Merc C63 AMG Coupe and BMW 1M; and more affordable interesting stuff like the Citroen DS3 Racing and a 300hp Astra VXR. These are just a few examples.

Some of us will be lucky enough to sample some of these delights new, some of us can look forward to getting them in a few years time.

So what forthcoming cars are you excited about, either as a potential owner or as a general enthusiast?

I'm looking forward to the Fezza/Lambo/Zonda/Bugatti turbo diesel.

Nothing new on the ownership horizon for me - just the Mustang getting MOT'd and the Caterham being used (and upgraded). Although it is great that both continue to have lots of upgrade options and enthusiast activity.

As an enthusiast, I'm looking forward to the new Lotuses and the Ginetta G40 road car.

Ginetta G40R. I am really really hoping this car is as good as everyone is making out it will be, mainly as a potential purchase. In the non affordable range the new Lambo should be special.

Yep it's a great time, cars with great engines depreciating like a stone because joe blow can't afford to run them and has to get his thrills 's-line' style. biggrin

Leaves more proper motors for us 'real men' biggrin
