Removal of surface scuffing to alloy wheels?

My five year old decided he would "help" me to clean the car. I turned my back for a couple of minutes and he took a grit laden sponge to my VW Monza alloys. The scuffing that resulted is surface only.

Suggestions for removal?

Hi, If you have a machine polisher you can buff the scratches out the same way you would with the paintwork. If you don't have one, contact your local Detailer who should be able to do this for you. Check out the "Detailer Directory" to find your local PH's Detailer.

Huwp,

If they are only light scratches, you should be able to remove them by hand using something like Scratch X or similar. It may take a bit of time but will remove them. Using a machine polisher is going to be tricky if you've never used one before and you could catch the edges and damage the lacquer.
Once you've polished the rim and removed the marks then a layer of wax will help protect them.
