Car Turbo pressure drops for a split second on full boost

Hi Guys,

Other night I was out, and when the car (2.5 GTO) was about to hit its full boast it kinda faded quickly away then came back again at peak power... Just like a very short lag plus I seen the pressure drop on the bar gauge. I had just refilled the car with fuel, was wondering was it a bad batch? or has anyone any ideas on what else it might have been

Took the car out the next day very quickly and it seems ok. Havent had it out since to recheck.

Just keep an eye out for if it happens again, it could have just been the wastegate that got stuck open for a second.

Did the car feel like it stuttered/hiccuped, like the problem could be fuel related?

Boost just dropped then came back then dropped then came back whilst under full load in 2nd and 3rd gear. Just like a little double chugg really.

Its probably a missfire, get some new plugs in it and see if it goes away

hi, I've already the same problems, it's one of my ignition coil which is dead !!
when the car is hot and on full boost the coil "cut"

Its a coil, my car also did this while yellowshed was mapping.

I'am in france and I paid 50€ at my ford dealer for the coil
one weeks of delay to have this parts because it's not a common parts

Yeah that's the jobbie. You just need to find out which one of the 6 is fooked then swap the new one in.

As you have a 2.5l check your spark plug gap first would be a good suggestion.

I had a big power loss on the M400 at the weekend. Quick trip down to Mole Valley this morning and they almost immediatly identified it as the spark plug gap. Neil took them all out, changed by just one tho, and it's running perfect now. Seems the new intercooler and pipework I had fitted has made it breath just that little bit better and the spark was getting blown out. It's a common problem it seems and Nobles seem very sensitive to the spark plug gap.

If not, as above, next will probably be the coil, but as you have a 2.5L and hence just one coil (whereas yellowvette is a GTO-3 and hollowpockets a M400) I'd be surprised if it's that as I'd expect the whole car to just 'die' rather than it lose power.

this is not going to help but mine did this exact same thing on and off for a few days got outta the car kicked it and its never done it again. :-) not very scientific but worked for me
