Worcs-Redditch PH Run To Mid Wales - 30th April
Discussion
UPDATED WITH FINAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE DAY
I know this has been under discussion for the last 3 months and I've promised numerous times to sort another run out....well, now finally I've pulled my finger out and done it!
Last year we did 2 runs out into sheep & leek land, both of which were fantastic. Seeing as how the last run was into the northern end, this time we'll head back to the mid / lower regions. Think Hereford, Brecons, Lampeter & Newtown, in a nice big loop, with a wee strop down the back roads, linking to Worcester / Redditch. It’ll be a 7am departure from our favourite Tesco petrol station in Redditch, with a few stops during the day and lunch in a pub nr Llandrindod Wells. I need to book the table for lunch, so if you're on the list and your availability changes, be sure to let me know!
After leaving Tesco @ 7am, we'll head to the Shell petrol station on the A438 in the Hereford centre for a refuel before heading into sheep country. A few folks have asked if they can join us in Hereford, so this works well. As the Shell garage is quite small, we'll muster at the Cranfield Cafe car park just over the road ( see here) with a view to leaving about 8:15-8:30am.
That's as much info as I'll post on-line, but all the TomTom files are now ready.... if you've got a TT / Garmin or you'd live to print out the maps (using the freebie TYRE program), drop me a PM. The idea being if everyone either has a Nav, or print outs of the route, smaller groups can set their own pace and hopefully (yeah, right) no one will get lost.
As is the privilege of organising these things, us early adopters have set the date at Sat 30th April. Hopefully that's sufficiently far out for folks to jiggle diaries and the weather settle a bit.
If you’re free on Sat 30th and would like to come and play, put your names down below. Obviously, we’re covering a fair distance, so you don’t need to be from the Midlands to join up with us. So, if you’re up for a scenic drive, get your name down below. More details & the final route to follow in early / mid April.

Hi Mark,
Having spent a bit of money on the MX-5 I have fallen back in love with it and would love to play with some of the big boys. Is this the Easter weekend? If so I'm away but if not I will do my best to keep it free.
Hiya David, would be great to have you along..... Roland is coming Having spent a bit of money on the MX-5 I have fallen back in love with it and would love to play with some of the big boys. Is this the Easter weekend? If so I'm away but if not I will do my best to keep it free.
This is the week after Easter, as we figured too many people wouldn't be able to make it, so moved it out by a week. Cheers!Should be there then. Just had the Geo set up on the car so it actually goes in a straight line. By then I should have new brakes and a nice sports exhaust / CAT so will be looking to drive the thing.
I actually had a nice drive through mid-Wales yesterday to get to get to a meeting and it was amazing. Went through Newtown and on to Machynlleth, couldn't believe how good the roads are! Perfect day for top down motoring, which I hear someone else might be a bit of a fan of

I'll be driving from Santa Fe to Albuquerque (christ Albuquerque is a weird word). So still a road trip.
That sounds like fun, I think I'd rather to that too
Hi Mark,
Never done a proper run before, done the odd tunnel run, but I really fancy coming along to this
However I don't drive anything remotely special, I'm currently driving a 1.6 astra and should be down grading to a corsa sometime next month. Would I still be able to come even if I'm only driving something like a corsa because chances are I won't stand a hope in hell of keeping up with everyone? Aha
