Mk2.5 Sport lowering springs
Discussion
Is anyone using springs to lower their car on the standard Sport Bilsteins?
I see MX-5 parts do these Koni ones are they any good?
I'd like to go to uprated shocks at some point (probably Gaz gold) but want to lower my car for aesthetic reasons at the moment.

I lowered my 2.5 sport and it looked great - unfortunately I used G-Max progressive springs for a 1.8 2.5 NOT the 1.8 sport which has slightly lower springs as standard and although the fronts worked fine the rears got spring bound over biggish bumps and I had to revert back to standard.
It turns out G-Max dont do springs for a 2.5 Sport.
Maybe by going for a complete gaz upgrade it would work OK
I was disappointed as it looked great and handled better than ever but they had to go.

I wouldn't bother messing around with lowering springs (along with the price of fitting & alignment that goes with it), especially if you are planning a complete shock/spring upgrade at some point. Just wait until you can afford a set of coilovers. GAZ Gold Pro is the way to go
Gaz Gold Pro certainly does look the dogs danglies for suspension on a '5!
I'd like to go to them now, but looking at buying a supercharger kit, new radiator & oil cooler (the FM TwinCooler if I can get it!) I don't really want to spend another £600 (+fitting) for the Gaz stuff at the moment...
I don't like the look of my tractor spec Mk2.5 though!

Hmmm...
