Early (93) Griffith 500

Would you buy one? What are the issues to look out for on an early car?

If it was in good condition and the chassis was sound, I see no real reason why there'd be an issue. It's lasted 18 years so far, it can't be that bad.

I believe it would have the Rover gearbox and would be a pre-serpantine engine but I don't know of any inherant problems with these in particular ? (although someone else might)

pre serp engines and LT77 boxes are both fine. they were used in all the big wedges without any problems

Bought a 93 Pre Serp off David Hendry getting on for 8 years ago and still have it ,Hardly had any bother in almost 40k miles
just the usual electric gremlins , only let me down completely once when the battery terminal fell off ,complete electric failure.
Still enjoying it a tremendous car dont let the rover box and supposedly inferior oil and water pump put you off i certainly dont regret it.

I have a 93 griff 500 and have had no issues great car would not change it for the world some people prefer power steering but never been an issue for me.
As said before condition and price only the real factors some people maybe put off by number of owners but unlike modern cars these tend to change hands more often mine has had 10 previous owners but is still in immaculate condition alround
