Trawler boat work
Discussion
Hi all,
Posting this up on behalf of my brother. He is currently working on a trawler boat out of Lakes Entrance in southern Australia, but his visa may be up in a few weeks and he asked me to enquire about trawler boat work back home for him.
Do you need any qualifications? He mentioned you may need a deckhand ticket to work on the boats. Not a problem as such, having 2 years experience and being a bright chap.
What's the pay like? I know some people get a market share of there take and it varies, but is there a ball park figure?
Any other things he should look out for while working on the boats back home? Or just advice in general?
Thanks
Ross
