I hope this is not a repost but the first drives of the new FF are now online. Here is a link to Autocar for the lazy ones

The Telegraph online has one aswell.

Enjoy.

Do you guys think that only people that already have a Ferrari or Lambo will buy this Hatchback? It makes no sense and at £220k makes it a strange move for Ferrari in my opinion.

I cant imagine someone having this as there only Ferrari/Sportscar?

I think if you buy one there is a good chance you already have something else lurking in the garage.

Yes, i totally agree as its like those old school Aston Martin "things". Very niche product for the man or women that has everything.

I imagine when you are behind the wheel it is worth every penny...

...but would you turn round after getting out of it to take another look? I wouldn't...and for that reason can't see the appeal...is it just me?

If I had > £50M of cash I'd have one for those occassions when you haven't been able to get out in my Ferrari for ages, for whatever reason, you need to take the kids somewhere, and you just need a burst in something 'special'. I briefly considered swapping my F430 for a 612 when a planned excursion suddenly included the children, and 4x4 it was AGAIN. The moment passed though.

I think its a great looking thing and the interior looks like a nice place to be too. I suspect they'll sell well, too.

I had a good look at one in Geneva and it's nice enough, but for me to want to spend that kind of money on a car I'd want my jaw to involuntarily drop a little and get a bulge in my pants every time I looked at it and it isn't that pretty. If I had more money than I knew what to do with, it would be much more tempting and I guess that's the market they are aiming at.

Give it 5 years of depreciation though and I think it will make an excellent purchase...

Maybe, but potential eyewatering bills with an AWD 12 cylinder Fezza.

Harry Metcalfe of Evo has ordered one, and is intending on it replacing his Maserati Granturismo and his TDV8 Range Rover.

And as we all know he already has a Zonda and many other cars in his garage.

Dual clutches in lieu of a front diff? That sounds like a durability & maintenance nightmare! I'd love to see a long term test on this car over 100,000 miles of spirited driving. How many runs up the Stelvio will those twin clutches survive?
I'm no fan of Haldex clutches or Viscous Couplings & even the Torsen/ATB diff has its limitations as a centre or rear diff, but I'd prefer to see a Torsen/ATB as the front diff of choice. Ferrari's lack of four wheel drive experience may be revealing itself.

If this a typical Ferrari any mechanical deficiencies will be disguished by low annual mileage & being a babied garage queen.
