Does this happen to anyone else when buying/selling cars?

Just wondering if it's just my terrible luck or if anyone gets the same issue of when I see a type of car I want to buy(used), it's always "in demand" therefore no bargains to be had and prices are buoyant, there's usually a following for the type of car and I have to pay a good price for it.
Then when I want to change again due to either circumstance or wanting a bit of variety, the same car I have recently bought is now no longer in demand, prices have plummeted and you can't give em away. So you either hold out and ease the price down or take a big hit and move on. (sometimes in as little as 4-6 months from buying to selling)In which time I've usually returned the car to showroom condition and spent £££s on it. Grrrr
Countach owners better hope I never accumulate enough to purchase my dream car cause as soon as my name hits the V5 they'll be worth £5k :-)

You need to think out of the box with your car choice and stop being a sheep!!! Out of interest what make/model is it you are struggling with? Ford Focus?
Not quite that but I find after having spent weeks and sometimes months looking for the right car, I'll go and buy the closest example to what I have in mind mostly for a little over the budget I've given myself only to find the perfect car for sale a week afterwards.
