what oil to use?

I have always just used regular oil.

Or should I use part synthetic or full?

There’s lots of opinion on this one but it’s a fairly agricultural engine so I wouldn’t spend a lot of money especially as you probably won’t do many miles and change it much more often than is needed. I think the recommended grade is 15-40 but I use Halfords 10-40 semi synthetic which seems fine and I get it on trade so is reasonably cheap.

These type of threads can run and run. I am sure there are some owners who will profess that they run some extremely exotic oil that give better lubrication and performance etc, but goodness sake this is a Ford Granada V6 engine, not some thoroughbred race engine. Ford recommends Multigrade 10W/30 to 20W/50 or better. I use a part-synthetic 10W/40 Castrol GTX. Seems good enough for me.

Thats good news, as thats what i have been giving her, and what i will continue to use.
