Looks really good. I've been thinking about doing this recently. How did you go about it if you don't mind me asking?

I was thinking map out the shapes of the strap and then cut with a knife.
Insert a foam of sorts inbetween the two strips of leather.
Glue
Pin prick some holes for sewing and then sew with waxed thread.

didn,t use foam just 3 layers of leather glued cut with a stanley knife . ends up about 4.5mm thick .iam an upholsterer and car trimmer so i used my sewnin machine to sew round the edge then hand sewn to finish . did,t use wax tread ,only doin it for my self so didn,t want to spend loads .i was surprised how good it has turned out .

Ok. I was thinking of the foam as I like the straps with the raised middles for want of a better term.

Your one certainly looks the business. I'm impressed.

Can a regular sewing machine be used or would something like that require a more heavy duty piece of machinery?

i only have a big industrail machine . i have been on other sites and they hand sew round the outside . but u need punches to do the . the punch stamps out about 12 holes at a time .just thought if you wanted to use foam . u could use laminate floor foam thats about the right thickness

Nice work there! You should make Panerai straps and sell on eBay.
By the way, how do they seal the edges?

For a Breitling-esque croco strap, look here
you need to be a registered trader to buy it though...
wink
