Nitrons upside down or downside up.
Discussion
I fitted my Nitrons in what i thought was the 'conventional' manner.

The word is that it is better to fit them inverted to reduce unsprung weight.
My question is, do you think the benefits are that much for me to go to the trouble of refitting them now?
I also think as they are it will be easier to set my ride hieght.

The only reason to fit inverted is to reduce unsprung weight which isn't all that much...and as you only go in straight lines it wont affect you
being seriuos for a moment, doesn't fitting them inverted cause issues with dirt and wear?
Mine were fitted by Dulfords and they have the adjusters at the top (as Richard helped develop Nitron for TVR's i think i'll keep them this way around)

Well even though I am the one that got on my high horse on your other thread and said they should be put on upside down I have put them on the way you have them there!
Reason being it is easier for me to adjust them that way. If I was racing the car then maybe it might make a difference but for my sedate pootling round country lanes I can't see it really making that much difference.

DBv8, those look the biz, im hoping you will be going out on some of south cumbria runs when the car is on the road, just wondering if you have any footage following me in my SEAC a wee while ago.

I'm not sure that can be true as I would have thought the seals will have the weight of the car behind them when the dampers are active. I can't see gravity having any effect when that happens, they will spew the oil at at each bounce whichever way up they are.DBv8, those look the biz, im hoping you will be going out on some of south cumbria runs when the car is on the road, just wondering if you have any footage following me in my SEAC a wee while ago.

When you say a wee while are we talking about 2 years? Thats a lot of footage to check through but i will have a look. What colour is your SEAC?

I rang Nitrons earlier this week and the engineer effectively said it really doesnt make any difference so I fitted them the same as on yours so I can adjust them easier
Thanks, as much as i had thought. The shox and springs are relatively light anyway so in the whole scheme of things the difference to unsprung weight must be slight. They are staying as thay are for this year at least.
